Mr. Ed Newhook, MCIP, RPP,
President, Milestone
Strategy. Ed is
an
experienced management consultant
and professional planner
with more than 30 years of experience.
He
is a specialist in the sports, recreation, culture and tourism
sectors
with both extensive consulting experience as well as
extensive senior management
experience within all three levels of government.
Ed has
held the positions of Director of Research and Planning with the City of North
York/Toronto, Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young Management Consultants, Manager of
Programs and Policies in the Ontario Ministry of Culture
and Communications, and General Supervisor of Policy Development in the City
of Edmonton. His project experience includes: comprehensive organizational and
program reviews and for public sector and not-for-profit organizations; policy
and strategy studies for senior levels of government, not-for-profits and the
private sector; and Strategic Master Plans and Needs Assessments/Feasibility
Studies for hospitality, leisure, culture and tourism organizations.
Ed
brings a wealth of experience working within the public sector that is not
found in other consultants. Sensitive to the responsibilities and public
expectations of the public sector, Ed has been in the position of not only
developing plans but, more importantly, implementing them. His unique
combination of both hands on public sector management and consulting
experience complements his projects perfectly. He understands the limitations
of resources and the need for clear, implementable recommendations.
Mr. Jon Linton,
is a Senior Associate of Milestone Strategy and
Director of TCI Management Consultants. Jon was formerly a Partner at Ernst & Young Management Consultants and Director of the
Ernst & Young's Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation Group in Canada.
Jon has undertaken numerous projects in
the arts, cultural, recreation and entertainment sectors including strategic and
business planning, audience research and development, membership surveys,
pricing strategies, feasibility studies, public policy development, social and
economic impact assessments, and program evaluations. He is experienced with a
wide variety of research methodologies and has directed several hundred projects
in the cultural sector. He has also undertaken numerous economic impact
assessments, using local, provincial and national input-output models.
In over 25 years of consulting
experience Jon has conducted work for a broad range of clients including Art
Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Ontario Science Center, Metro Toronto
Zoo, Vancouver Art Gallery, Canadian Federation of Friends of Museums, the
National Club, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the O'Keefe Center.
Jon has directed many public policy and regional economic development
projects, as well as assignments in the fields of hospitality, tourism, arts,
culture and recreation for both the private and public sectors.

was founded in 1991. The firm consists of senior level management consultants
(formerly with one of the 'Big 6' consulting firms) who espouse a philosophy of

Glen has over 25 years
experience in marketing management and consulting. He has developed marketing
strategies for local and national organizations and sales programmes for many
products, services, and ideas. Glen is formerly a senior consultant with Ernst &
Young’s Hospitality and Tourism practice. He managed profit centers at Heritage
Canada and the University of British Columbia and the communications groups of
Ombudsman Ontario and the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto.
Glen is a director of the
ELMS Learning Centers Ltd, director of Open Arms to International Adoption, past
trustee of the Toronto Historical Board, past chair of the Red Cross’ Blood
Collection Committee, and past a member of the Circle of Advisors to the
President of the Royal Canadian Academy of Art. He has BCom and MBA degrees
from the University of British Columbia.
The St.
Clements Group helps organizations sell themselves,
their products, services,
and ideas. The firm works with governments, not-for-profits,
municipalities, service providers, and product manufacturers to develop and roll
out campaigns to get their messages out. SCG creates
strategies and campaigns that are driven by consumer and
organizational needs and
execute programmes that
drive customers to make a "purchase." The firm assists
organizations with marketing campaigns, strategic plans,
branding programs, business plans, economic development strategies, and
communications programs.
Ms. Judy
Wood,
is an Associate of Milestone Strategy
and
is President of J Wood Creative,
a firm specializing in advertising,
special event production and web development.
Judy has produced and managed several special events for clients at
events such as: the World Cycling Championships, Home Show and numerous
other consumer shows, etc. Web design and management includes several national
organizations.
